Living in an urban setting has its own share of challenges - Apartments being compact, houses without magnificent views, developing a livable, functional house out of the area provided and so on. Decorating a house in this setup to provide a fulfilling experience to the user is important. Photography by: Hemant Patil Photography Artwork by: Sāar tfa

The Living Room

The show flat designed for a builder in Pune has been a unique experience. The layout for the 2 Bedroom show flat was prepared in a straightforward manner without indulging into too many civil interventions. The actual area where a good deal of brainstorming would be required was - to make every frame in the apartment, interesting to look at.

The Living Room

The living area at its entrance has a 3-seater sofa merged into a compact storage unit making it fit utility wise without compromising on aesthetics. The abstract wall art behind the sofa energizes the space without disturbing its harmony. The compact TV unit and hairpin style center table add a touch of minimalistic beauty to the area.

The Living Room

The living area overlooks a small outdoor terrace adorned with a setup ideal for tea time. A display unit that also acts as a partition between the common wall of the kitchen and living area creates an interesting frame. The Dining area is painted with a hue of pastel green to give an illusion of being a separate corner in the house.

The Dining Area

A sleek lamp suspended above the dining completes the frame.
The master bed area is done up in fresh pastel shades with distress finished natural teakwood furniture which makes the space look uncongested and bigger. Animal art adorns the wall at one corner and creates a whole nature themed vibe with natural light pouring in through the chic wooden blinds.

The Guest Bedroom

The guest bed incorporates a lightweight folding chair by IKEA that is mounted on the wall when not in use. One side of the bed has a pull out workstation turning it into a comfortable WFH setup. The living area overlooks a small outdoor terrace adorned with a setup ideal for tea time.

The Master Bedroom

Selective wall art and artefacts have been placed at multiple areas in the apartment in harmony with the background colors. Minimalist furniture, pastel paint tones, distinctive art work make the apartment an exciting experience in itself without relying much upon outdoor views.

The Guest Bedroom

To make the apartment fascinating without turning it into an art gallery has been an interesting experience. It simply emphasizes on how artwork elevates a design and makes it richer.
