In Suthamalli, a quaint little village close to the town of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, surrounded by farms. As a personal space to find solace, quiet and calm from today fast-paced world, this home plays a significant role for those seeking slow. Experiencing slow living in the vacation home for our client to get away from the hustle of urban life.

The notion is to create a place that makes the residence express less of a style and more of a minimalist and neutral aesthetics. The design philosophy is a mix between rustic themes and also contemporary finishes to enable comfortable lifestyle.

The earthy warm entry experience crossing the organic manmade pond collects rainwater and harvest the water from the terrace and bring them down in a visible manner to celebrate the beauty of the rain in the open frontage. The plinth of the house is tucked inside to give the building raised look off the ground. While entering wooden door with parliament hinge crafted from kondu wood adorned with criss-cross wooden reaper, sets the tone for the entire house. To help animate the monotone facade, the design team arrived at an interesting brick pattern which is an added detail to the front facade.
