The exterior of the house was planned in a way that allowed ample of natural sunlight and natural ventilation throughout the house. The exterior is designed in a way that the balconies, the parking areas and the shades provide not just functional, but also aesthetic benefits. Having a beautifully landscaped lawn area was another major focus as the clients wanted a charming space to entertain their guests. This area looks so picturesque during sunset that the house was dubbed the “West Garden House.”

The structure in itself is an exemplery concoction of neat, straight vertical lines and horizontal projections that lends it a pleasing character. The interior of the house follows the same principles of modern contemporary and neutral colour palette as the exterior of the house.

The living room is adorned with comfortable sofas and sectionals in grey, with a distinct nesting table combination in the centre. The most eye-catching element in the design of this room is the black back painted glass used in the recessed nook of the TV. This is also liberally used in other elements such as the centre table, as well as the vertical borders of the unit behind the sofas. The black trimmings on the furniture further harmonizes the design. The use of spotlighting in the living room is a clever way to guarantee an ambient atmosphere.

The dining area is an extension of the living room, with the same base of greys on the walls and an evidence of the same shade of woodwork on the chairs of the dining table. The marbled topped dining table goes marvellously with the soft teal upholstery of the chairs. The abstract pendant light and the spot lights give the clients the option to choose either an intimate or a softly lit ambience.

The pooja room is a serene space that exerts good vibes in the entire house. With soft arches and a colour palette of whites and soft teals, this room  is a combination of modern and traditional. The recessed arches with traditional pichwai paintings on left the wall not only bestows an elegant look to the pooja room, but also gives a visually pleasing aesthetic for the dining area. The mesh wooden wall in the corner of the room ensures natural light and air ventilation in the area.

The master bedroom is doused in earthy tones with a lustrous chocolate coloured wall, set off with a white adjacent wall, showcasing two distinct intricate MDF designs. The box bed and the headboard upholstered in a soft sandstone brown, matches harmoniously with the wooden laminates on the TV unit. The chequered chairs, in the lounging area of the room, along with a petite coffee table provide a perfect solution for relaxing and unwinding. The task lighting atop the bedside table is a chic feature.

The parents’ bedroom follows almost the same colour theme as that of the kids’ room, except that the primary colour in this bedroom’s theme is white and the steel-blue is used as a secondary colour. The beautifully panelled wall behind the bed complements the half panelled wall of the study area in the room. The study area has a floating desk supported on one side by a cabinet, while the top sports a couple of floating shelves joined by a small filing cabinet. It is interesting to note the tiny window the study is awarded with; this promises natural light while reading or writing. The full sized closets provide a base for the dressing area and the adjoining cubby-hole display.

With steel-blue and whites, the children’s bedroom radiates a soothing atmosphere. The twin beds with two wardrobes separated by a dressing area make it a sensible design for two kids sharing a room. The best feature of the room is the cozy nook in the corner. It is the perfect place to read or take a snooze or even lounge. The wall and the furniture knobs are embellished with rose-gold trimmings that grants it an elegant look.

The aim was to have a cohesive design palette, while also experimenting with different concepts and themes. All the main three bedrooms are designed in a way that has a seating area, wardrobe and dressing areas. But that is where the similarity ends. The master bedroom has chairs and coffee table, the kids’ bedroom has a low-seating in the nook, while the parents’ bedroom has a study. The use of natural lighting makes the design perfect. What truly made a difference, in my opinion, was the attention to detail. Clients really loved their new home; and that was the best achievement for them.
