This transformative project converted a spacious one-bedroom flat into a sophisticated three-bedroom terrace apartment, featuring fabricated roofs for the living and dining areas, replacing the former open-to-sky terrace. Designed for a small family of three, with occasional visits from parents, the primary goal was to create a home that is both simple and functional, emphasizing a profound connection to the surrounding nature.

The site's lush greenery, enveloping the property from all sides, set the stage for a design that prioritized privacy and the integration of a sizable open-to-sky terrace. To blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, expansive openings were strategically incorporated, creating an illusion that the verdant foliage seamlessly infiltrates the living space.

A pivotal change in the layout involved relocating the main entry to maximize the impact of the terrace view upon entering. A meticulously designed corner window, free of obstructive elements, was customized to harmoniously merge the terrace with the extended living area when opened, establishing a fluid connection with nature.

The living and dining areas, originally an outdoor terrace, underwent a structural transformation with fabricated roofs and column supports only at the ends, allowing for extended spans without intervening columns. This innovative design, facilitated by a girder system, provides a seamless connection between the living and dining spaces, with a passage affording captivating views of the terrace. The fabricated roof, constructed with decking sheets, PCC, and insulation foam, ensures effective heat insulation for the top terrace.

To enhance the calming views of the green surroundings, the interior material palette focused on natural elements, incorporating stones like yellow sandstone, black basalt, lappato-finished granites, and kadappah. The living room, adorned with exclusive yellow sandstone cladding, accentuates the outdoor greens. A swing on the terrace serves as a charming link between the living space and the outdoors, while black basalt flooring adds a raw, natural touch to the terrace.

In designing the son's room, warmer tones were introduced to complement the large window capturing various shades of green from the surrounding trees. Beige and light wooden textures dominate, with ash wood veneer wardrobes and a natural wooden shelf study table adding a touch of luxury. The ensuite toilet follows a harmonious color scheme of greens and greys. The parents' cum guest bedroom exudes coziness, featuring ombre green wardrobes that contribute to a warm
and inviting ambiance.

The unique patterned veneer on the wardrobes, coupled with a generous window framing the tree-lined view, creates a serene atmosphere. The master toilet continues the monochrome theme with grey and white tiles, complemented by black and white artworks, elevating the overall mood of the space.
