The Green Axis located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is home to the family of Mr.Vipulbhai and his wife who are entrepreneurs. The brief from the clients was to design a comfortable home for a family 6 which included kids and parents that would be spatial well connected that keep the family well bonded. The family wanted to fill the house with natural light and green vistas with an emphasis on quality of timelessness.

As the name " The Green Axis" suggests we placed the house in the center of the plot led us to two axis due to a square plot on the site with a good amount of space in front and back, the plan was worked out in detail according to this axis. As the plot was south facing many extruded spaces hence the balconies and verandahs were created in the front facade to avoid the direct sunlight into the house along with the water body and garden in front. The design of the house is an extrovert one, which makes each room/space connected to the outdoor with a view in all four directions.

This house has expansive interior corridors on both floors as well as double heights and skylights which allowed ample daylight into the house all day long. The afternoons and evenings are cooler in summer due to pool and water bodies surrounding the house.

The layout is unobtrusive and minimal throughout the house, the furniture design is high on comfort with the idea of minimalism and light furniture. All the bathrooms of the house including the powder room have a connection to a private courtyard which helps bring the landscape, natural light, and ventilation into the house. The double-height stairs and dining area make it easy to connect the floors vertically. A few of the details like exposed designer 3d walls, clay pots for landscape, staircase details, Italian marble black mirror flooring, and double height chandelier were essential accessories that helped us create a design concept of the house.
