This property is located in a residential neighborhood on a corner plot with a total area of 5000 sq. ft. This modest home has four stories and belongs to a family in the healthcare business. The design goal was to give this home modern air while still keeping it warm. The client has asked for a house that was both simple and bold in design. This was a chance to try out a design style that blends elegant materials while still providing the home with the luxury it deserves.
The Master of this project is the Floor Plan, which drives the whole design. On the outside, this design creates an L-shaped landscape on the north-eastern side, which attracts more wind and evening shade than sunlight. Around the inside, the layout is centered on a central water body on the first level, which serves as a vertical connection between all floors.
The house's preliminary areas begin on the second level (The first floor). The client required a room that could accommodate a large group of people at a time. The middle court is therefore the semi-private living room, a sunken space that can be seen from the upper level. This formal double height living area, set back a few steps from the casual living zone, optically extends into the informal living zone, creating a bigger space/court. The design centers on a central water body in the first floor, close to the great living room, which serves as a vertical link between all levels. This level's private zone is made up of the kitchen and dining area, which may be accessed via a corridor.
All of the bedrooms and a family living space are located on the third level (second floor). The bedrooms are located on either side of the central court, on the eastern and western sides, respectively. Each bedroom has a balcony, with one overlooking the entrance road on the northern side and the other two overlooking the private lawn on the eastern side.
