Situated in the vibrant city of Trivandrum, in close proximity to Kundamankadavu bridge, this project embodies the family's vision of creating a genuine "family cocoon" – a space that is both functional and welcoming, seamlessly connecting with the outdoors and allowing natural light to permeate all the common areas. The primary objective of this project is to foster conviviality, warmth, and ample light while adding a playful touch to this contemporary family home. At the heart of the design lies a central staircase, complemented by a double-height space and glazed openings. This combination creates a dynamic and engaging environment that encourages interaction and playfulness within the family. The staircase, serving as a focal point, brings a sense of movement and vitality to the house. It not only serves as a functional element but also adds aesthetic appeal and architectural interest.
The interior of the house is thoughtfully curated, featuring accents and elements that echo the same warm tonality found in the design. These touches contribute to a harmonious visual flow throughout the space, enhancing the overall ambiance and creating a sense of unity. Furthermore, the second level of the house showcases a dramatic architectural expression, amplifying the formal aesthetic of the front facade. This deliberate design choice adds a striking visual impact and creates a sense of grandeur and distinction to the overall structure.
The combination of functional design, abundant natural light, and playful elements in this project creates a unique and welcoming atmosphere for the young family. The concept of a "family cocoon" is brought to life through thoughtful architectural choices and a careful balance between functionality and aesthetics. The result is a residence that not only meets the needs of the family but also embodies their values of togetherness, warmth, and joy.
