Effective space utilization and adding dynamism in the interaction of users with space formed the key design concepts. The challenge of housing more than 1000 files for ready reference along with spacy workstations drove the design focus towards saving every inch of space. The solution laid in the comprehensive study and evolution of unique file storage and workstation de-sign. The idea was to transform this challenge into an opportunity so that not only does this highly efficient storage occupy less space but also offers its users an interesting operating pattern to retrieve files which takes away the tiresome essence of typical office space. To enhance this dynamism a dynam-ic file-storage-cart assembly was conceptualized to in-house daily reference files; interaction through which could act as a stress-buster for the users through-out their mundane routines. Spatial hierarchy has been kept in mind while placing the supervisor cabins guarding the entrance, thus cordoning off the inside open office space for the visitors. Visually light partitions were conceptualized in the foreground to keep the space visually connected and to accentuate the expanse of the small space whereas the ceiling and back-ground were conceptualized as exposed with the use of rustic-finish elements to bring in a workaholic character to space.

The geometry of "index files" was analysed and a module for the most efficient index-file-storage unit was developed as a sector of a circle. This module served as the basis of spatial planning. Y-shaped clusters of workstations were planned to accommodate a circular sector placed between a workstation-pair for accommodating the current account files being used by each employee thereby keeping the desks clutter-free.
Indigenously designed file rotatory storage serves as an interesting backdrop to the whole space. A dynamic file-storage assembly placed in the centre acts as a sculpture. Ceiling has been kept exposed with all the utilitarian elements like ducts, cables etc. visible yet unified by teal blue colour whereas the bright ochre-yellow lighting fixtures specially designed to recess the optics add vibrancy to the otherwise mundane workspaces. The unique Y-shape configuration of workstations offer ample visual connect among the team members. The rugged-patterned wooden laminate flooring, clear-polished solid wood furniture and corrugated metal sheet partitions above the clear partitions impart the space an industrial theme which in turn render this office a workaholic character.
This unique rotatory file storage is not only the most efficient storage system for index files but also gives its users an efficient and interesting file retrieval system, taking away the tiresome essence of the monotonous of a typical accounts office.
A dynamic art installation resembling structure of the Ferris wheel takes the centre stage. This 10-cart dynamic assembly offers its users storage for the daily-reference files but importantly, offers its users a unique experience of file retrieval acting as a stress buster for the accountants through their prolonged mundane routine.
